This morning at 4:30am, I woke up from a sudden clash outside in my living room. I quickly realized that heavy gusts of wind were blowing the blinds in every possible direction and I quickly told Keegan to close the window. Not before long, a huge roll of thunder rang in the distance and I covered myself with the blanket. I’ve never been a fan of thunder–in fact, I’ve always been afraid of it. I remember spending nights by myself and having to stick earphones into my ears, turn the volume up loud, and hope that the music would dull out the sound of the thunder. I would also try to squeeze my stuffed animal against my ear to muffle any outside noise. Then I would stay very still until I fell asleep again.
Yesterday I got the chance to go to The Bird in San Francisco for my very first Yelp Elite event in SF! I’ve only been to one other elite event in LA and that one was amazing so I had an idea of what to expect. I wanted to write a little bit about it on my blog and also about my experience so far as a Yelp Elite 🙂
Today I got the chance to revisit the beautiful Half Moon Bay again. I came here before for my aunt’s wedding and found the place extremely lovely (but very windy/cold!!). Originally, I planned on going to the swings at Kirby Cove but they were destroyed recently because of all the wind and rain we got in SF this week 😥 SO SAD!! Nonetheless, Keegan and I had a fun time even though our faces and hands became frozen within ten minutes from the wind.
Quick post about turning 23 yesterday. It started feeling like any other day and ended just like any other day–nothing entirely special, and yet it was the best birthday yet. I realized I’ve been living life with way too many expectations and it was nice just putting on a regular face of makeup, strolling to work, grabbing a coffee, and having dinner with Keegan. It was the first time where I felt, hey, I don’t need a huge bouquet of flowers or a $$$$ restaurant to make me happy. For a moment there, I felt sad that I’ve had this way of thinking up until 2017. Sure, which girl doesn’t like all those nice things…but that’s not what’s important. You don’t need to wait until your birthday to splurge and feel great about yourself because you’re allowed to have that any day!
I want to live my life from now on in the same manner I spent my 23rd birthday. No expectations (plus side: everything exceeds expectations haha) and just taking moments as they come along. Happy 2017 guys 🙂
San Francisco has been pouring for the longest time and this was the first weekend that Keegan and I could spend time together (he’s been studying really hard for the GMAT the past few months so weekends were solely for studying). We originally wanted to go hiking but decided to do something indoors when we checked that the weather would be 100% rain this weekend. Thus, we headed for SF MOMA! The museum is pretty pricey at $25/adult (below 18 is free) but it is what it is..
My first ever food blog post!
It seemed like the entire world went to Japan this winter! If you have not had the chance to visit this amazing country, I highly, HIGHLY recommend it. And what better way to experience a place than try out some of its food? Here are my suggestions on where you should dine and some tips from yours truly 😉

“Here’s to the ones who dream/ Foolish as they may seem.”
Keegan and I decided to see a movie today and I chose La La Land! Turns out, we absolutely loved it. If you’re a dancer, musician, someone who is interested in the arts, or a person at all, I highly recommend this film. The movie was entertaining, sad, cute, and funny all in one sitting. There were even times where I caught myself holding my breath for some reason.
Hello from Asia!! I meant to put a post up earlier but the past week has been so busy that I couldn’t put together a solid post. Currently, I’m in Japan so expect another blog post about that soon!
